Process
Use the following step to accomplish the task:
(1) You will be assigned to a team consisting of 5 students
(2) Discuss some places you would like to take a trip to and pick one place (Use the Globe and your creativity to pick a place)
(3) Once you have decided which of the five questions you will tackle, work on the question using the Internet (links provided), the atlases in the classroom, and the globe
(4) Share your information with your team members
(5) Discuss each team members findings
(6) Prepare a group proposal of your team’s choice, (including a list of pros and cons for your choice).
The proposal should include a 3-Dimensial representation for the destination of their choice (PowerPoint, overheads et. al). The proposal should include the follwing:
• Important information using facts from physical, political maps, and population maps such as location, population density, and physical features, as well as information from National Geographic: People and Places that illustrates information about the characteristics of the place.
• A 3-D representation, including physical features of the area like mountains, rivers, and lakes, among others. Students may create a topographical map of the area, or, if the destination is a city, students may wish to construct a skyline.
• A completed Geographic Perspective Chart (Adobe Reader required) for the area.
